DIY Lemon & Honey Face Mask

When I think of lemon and honey together, the first thing that comes to mind is a soothing tea for a sore throat. I never would have thought that these 2 ingredients would be the answer to all of my beauty prayers. I have really sensitive, acne-prone skin and I have spent countless dollars trying to find the right creams and serums to help with my problem. Lately, i've been really into DIY projects and home remedies and I came across this article on the internet about a lemon and honey mask. It's been a good 3 weeks or so that i've been using this mask and i'm thrilled with the results, so I just had to share! This mask is for all skin types including sensitive skin. Honey is a natural antibacterial and anti-infammatory. It absorbs impurities from the pores and the skin. Lemon brightens and exfoliates. It’s great for acne prone skin, age and sun spots or uneven skin tone. It is also a natural source of vitamin C and rich in alpha hydroxy acids. Please try it out and tell me what you guys think!

Benefits of the honey lemon mask:

- Clears acne
- Gentle cleansing agent
- Dries out pimple
- Minimizes pore size
- Smooths skin
- Reduces redness and instantly soothes irritation
- Makes skin glow
- Relieves dryness and even flaking
- Honey is a humectant so it hydrates skin
- Brightens skin
- Evens out skin tone ( due to sun damage or blemishes) and helps scarring
- The bacteria cannot live in an environment covered in honey; due to honeys antiseptic qualities

Ingredients:
- 1/2 of a real lemon
- 2 teaspoons of honey (Manuka honey has higher antibacterial properties, but regular honey is fine too).

Directions:
Squeeze 1/2 of the lemon into a bowl, mix in honey and stir until its like cough syrup. Apply mask to freshly cleansed face. Let the mask sit for about 20 minutes, and try not to talk. Rinse off with cold water (helps close pores) and pat dry your face. You can do this every morning or every night. Apply a good moisturizer afterwards.
